We're Moving On

Hey all, This is yesterday's project 365. The "Bearded One" peering through his magnifying glass.
I have lots of news. We found a cottage on Oyster Bay that we will be moving to full time the first of may. To celebrate that and to keep myself posting I am now here:
http://cottageyear.blogspot.com/ So come on over and redirect your links. If you scroll back to the beginning of those posts you will see how this all came to be.
I'll be waiting for you. Rhondi

Max "Painting"

Fell out of the work truck and bruised my ribs. Ouch... Can't move very well so am reduced to slowly moving my fingers on the keypad of my laptop to keep myself distracted from the pain. I'm such a weanie. Anyway this picture was too soft to be a good photo so have tried it as a painting.

"Little Shoes" today's 365 photo

I needed something for todays picture and I was at the shop and saw these little sedum sneakers sitting on a wet boulder... It's sometimes hard to think of shots to take, I just have to squint and look around wherever I'm at hoping "the muse" will strike.

Happy Anniversary coming up Will and Jodi!!!

Still sticking to the lowcarb thing. You'd think I'd learn and stop jumping off the wagon.

Be well and keep safe...

Morning Sun

The sun was shining through the kitchen window this morning and I liked how the light showed through the African Violet leaves.
Well I'm back on, or at least climbing onto the ol' Low carb wagon again. This time I'll be good. Really I will. I love those carbs really I do but they sure mess with my body chemistry. So I said all that to say this. IF ANY ONE OF YOU SEE ME EVEN SO MUCH AS SNIFFING A TASTY HIGH CARB TREAT... FOR GOD SAKES SLAP ME!!!! enough said.
I am a little cranky and irritable. Tomorrow will be a better day.

"just the two of us"

It used to be just the two of us here at apt. 121. We added two goldfish in a large pot on the patio last summer, making our total census count four. A while back we added four little zebra finches to our little "nest". Ah life was indeed fullfilling and grand. There were Prettyboy and Amelia a nice little couple, and Arrow and Mr speckles our "alternative lifestyle" couple. Well as of the day before yesterday little amelia has presented us with at least two little hatchlings. They are all eyes, eyebrows and beaks at this viewing. Of course, in order for me to actually peer into the nest, I have to perch upon the boot bench while precariously leaning against the wall and squint through my reading glasses. So hurray, hurray, we that were few are now many. As soon as I can get a better look I will post pictures. The "boys" are quite envious and keep trying to fix up their nest and produce an egg or two themselves... It's not working.

"The Goose"

Came across this guy when we were wandering around the Nisqually refuge... Loved the colors so thought I'd fiddle with it and put it on watercolor paper texture. (click on picture to see detail.) Oops! I gotta get to work...

Tumwater Falls

Still keeping up with project 365. This is today's shot. I really don't like landscapes but the Falls just called to me. I think I was attracted to the reflected water on the left. Day 24 already only 341 more days to go lol.

Winter walk at Nisqually widlife refuge

Road Trip

George is busily planning his road trip. He pours over the maps and campground books. At this point in time he plans on taking the motorcycle. This means figuring out how to carefully pack everything he needs for the long haul. They say half the fun is in the planning, and he seems to be enjoying himself thoroughly.

Old gates and Anniversaries

Today's picture comes from a series of shots of an old wall off of Percival St. I used a different one for project 365. I love old rustic things. Wait I am an old rustic thing...
Happy Anniversary Karl and Carey!!!
Love you all- keep well

Day Eighteen's Picture for project 365

It's getting a little harder to keep coming up with a new picture each day. I try to shoot something that I haven't already shot. This is Neal's gorgeous cobalt blue pot. Of course you can't tell it in this photo. It was just way too busy looking in brilliant color so I opted for the duo-tone look instead.

Tucker's Birthday

Need I say more?

The muse is evading my grasp...

Trying to come up with a new photo each day for project 365 has been a challange. Everything I shot seemed to fall flat. Nothing seemed to call to me or jump out. I had resorted to taking pictures of my "bathroom" seashells and I couldn't come up with anything that seemed to work. I then decided to go with a beach sign I saw at work. I posted the picture and then played with the seashells again. It seemed to go easier when the pressure was off. So I post my seashells here. If you click on it you should be able to see the watercolour texture.
Well time to hit the sack so I can start all over again tomorrow.

Funky Little Rocket

Took this down near the waterfront the other day. It sits on top of a little lunch shop. I will need to stop by someday when it's open to sample the goods.
Tucker's Birthday is coming up. I actually remembered and put a card in the mail. My family will be swooning... they will be in total awe that grandma actually remembered a birthday without being prompted. Hmmm. It could be a fluke. Only time will tell.

Wanting Spring to get here

I can't take the gloom any longer. Bearded Dragon helped me by setting out some primroses and daffadils (spelling?) in the planter box on the deck. Ahhh... that does wonders. It seem that once Feb. gets here though, we are off and running and spring has sprung. It will be handy just having the little deck of our apartment to plant. I get to wander around in everyone else's large gardens while I'm working so I will try to be satisfied with my little terrace.

Mount Rainier

Took this while riding down the freeway coming home from Tacoma. George had a hankering to sit on every bmw motorcycle he could find. He did just that at BMW fife... and then some. We ended up in tacoma at the yamaha-honda shop. We were looking for gear for his upcoming sojourn into the Oregon wilderness this June.

Under the weather

What a nasty cold. I'm home, but I'm not playing hooky... which is, according to webster, an unjustified abscence from school or work. I know it's Friday and it might, to the untrained eye look suspicious.
But I really am miserable. really.

Yesterday's Picture

So coming up with a new picture everyday is getting a little challenging. Today I am totally wiped out with this cold thing Had to miss the knitting get together this evening. Anyway it was hard to feel really enthused about much of anything. George came to the rescue and He helped me pick out a subject. I'll post it tomorrow.

Back on Track

I've been a little busy. A little pre-occupied. I've committed to taking a picture a day for the next 365 days and posting each one on "project 365" with the phototips.biz forum. I'm a little picky so it takes me a little while to come up with a new subject each day. I drive around from job to job with my camera beside me to capture the next "great photo". Right now it looks like just me and one other soul are actually following through. We are up to day 11. I want to try and kind of have them look like they go together. If you want to see what I've put up so far there I've posted them in a gallery in my "smug mug" account. There is a link to the right of this posting.

Got out of the house today

Bearded Dragon and I went out to shoot photos and have a bite to eat this afternoon at Tugboat Annies. I had some amazing buffalo wings and he had a salmon burger... yum We then motored over to Bud Bay marina where I kept snapping photos of reflections...
Love the reflections on the water.
