A church in Elgin

Getting ready for rules class at the depot tomorrow. This two days a month can make a girl lazy. Semi retired but without a whole lot of moolah. Still playing with photoshop. My new Pen tablet should be here by tomorrow... thanks George!!! This will allow me even more options with photos and retouching.

My Desktop Background

This is what I designed to put as my desktop. It allows me to move files around where I can find them. My vista post it widget can float around as can my clock. I can put my "working on " files where I can easily see them. it's a work in progress. To see what it looks like, save it and then set it as your background. Then you can see how it works.

Works in progress

I'm learning a new style. It takes lots and lots and lots of layers. I'm nowhere near finished with these but they are starting to resemble annie and todd.

Coloring old prints

Having fun "coloring". Worked out in the yard today. It was beautiful though the wind blowing down across the snow covered hills was a tad chilly. George really outdid himself cleaning out old beds and underneath the hedge. Me... I just dug out a couple of new beds getting ready for annuals and a few shrubs.

Love these old drawings

"Ice Cream"

Look what I found...

Not the bird nest... but a great resource.
Carey, for you in particular. I think you'll like it. A wonderful clip art site with a lot of old children's illustrations. Each one comes in three different sizes for clear work also tiff files for art prints.
http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/index.htm I've added it to my side bar for easy access.
Check it out... oh the crafty possibilities.

Still waiting for Spring...

Went to my interview. I think it went pretty well. Still not sure whether to take the job if offered. I will be going to the home to meet the child and check out the surroundings. It is quite involved so it's really important to see if it's a good fit.
Happy Friday Hope you are all well. Miss you. Stay in touch.

Watercolour Pansies

Today I have an interview for a part-time job. The Railroad is a little slow and I could use a little more cash flow.I don't know that it's the job for me or that I'm the one for the job. It involves helping out with a kid that has Cerebral Palsy. We will see. I meet with the mom today at 1:30. Sounds pretty intense.

Another version of bird in a tree

Bird in a tree

Well, well... the sun is shining in between the rain/snow clouds. Still not warm enough to make me want to run outside however so here I am sitting at the computer. Jodi and Alli went to The
Dalles to help out and be there for Edie. (Love you Jodi...my prayers are with you) and Will is working West pool this round. Katy the cat is recouping from her surgery and is getting around pretty well. She looks like some strange cartoony skinny bald creature. They left her main and a tuft on the end of her tail. Sandy hope the house you're building is going well. Keep in touch.

Japanese Lantern at lakewold gardens

Waiting for Spring

There is a little skiff of snow on the ground. The "weather ones" are predicting more white stuff to fall.
Climbing back on the ol' low carb wagon. It's always rough for the first 3 days. Have found a great "English" low carb sight called the biscuit and cake diet... It has a daily food journal and some cool recipes. (on the side click on "food diary" to check it out)
